Xbox Live Marketplace: Bioshock demo

A demo for 2K games' highly anticipated first person action adventure Bioshock has been released and is ready to download from the Xbox Live Marketplace- I'm sure you can find 1.35GB of free space on that (no doubt) almost full HDD of yours. Problems with my broadband are preventing me from downloading it, imagine how long it'd take on a 100kbps line...yeah, that's right...it doesn't bare thinking about. So what you waiting for, go get it! Explore Rapture, take down a Big Daddy, harvest some ADAM...oh and let me know how it is!

Bioshock is released this month on August 24th with both a standard edition and limited edition available, exclusively for Xbox 360 and Games for Windows.

I downloaded it last night and couldn't resist playing it before i went to sleep, so i fired up my 360 at 2am and played the demo through to completion (it took about 45-50 minutes). I'm quite impressed with it, the graphics are better than i actually thought they'd be, especially the water and extremely shiny and well bump mapped surfaces.

You don't actually fight a Big Daddy in the demo, but you do get to see one in action, and those little girls are creepy as hell. Creepiest gaming moment of the year has to be when you walk over a walkway and look down and see one of the girls poking a bloody corpse' head with a blunt stick which she sings a lullaby to herself.

I really liked the plasmids, in the demo you get the "electricity" one and the "incineration" one, firing the electric one at the water while a group of enemies gets fried is really fun to watch, lol.

Overall, i'm impressed with it, and will definitely be picking it up next Friday on my weekly trip to Morrisons :)

PS: There is also a "Tv Spot" trailer on XBL, but it's not in game graphics for some stupid reason. Considering how good the actual graphics are, i'm baffled as to why 2K Games decided to make a "fake" trailer :S
