News: Price cut for UK and Europe

Following on from the announcement a few weeks back that the Xbox 360 was to receive new lower price points in the US, Microsoft have kindly offered us lot over the old pond a similar deal. The new pricing structure will be effective from Friday which also nicely co-insides with the release of the new Xbox 360 Elite and Bioshock.

Xbox 360 Elite: GBP 299.99
Xbox 360 Premium: GBP 249.99 (-30)
Xbox 360 Core: GBP 179.99 (-20)

Microsoft also announced that a stand alone 120GB HDD will cost GBP 129.99.

£129.99 for a 120gb hard drive?!?!?! Who the hell do they think they're kidding? it's not like there is anything that will take up 20gb at the moment anyway, maybe when MS release the TV/Movie download over here, but that's the biggest rip off i've seen for ages until then.

PS: Your internet is fixed, and now mine is broken, lol. I'm leaving BT and joining either Virgin Broadband or Demon, BT are shite.

I know. I think perhaps a £79.99 price point would be slightly more attractive, and £44.99 for the 20 GB.

What's wrong with your internet btw? If it's a major speed problem that you're experiencing (like I was) bare in mind that simply switching over to a different provider will most likely not resolve the issue as BT control all the broadband lines (other providers just offer their service via the same lines.)

I must admit that BT are hardly impressive though. The telephone support system is absolutely awful and the worst I have ever experienced. However once I managed to arrange for an engineer to come and check my line, he was infact excellent and fixed my line.

It's actually my Router that is the problem (it's pretty much knackered, and keeps losing the connection), but we're changing ISP's because BT are ripping my Dad's company off (they pay the internet bill because my dad needs the connection, they don't realise that i use it more than him, lol). So we're going to join Virgin Broadband and pay £17.99 a month for 8mb's (with a free router) instead of £30 a month for 2.2mb's with our existing BT connection.

PS: It took a while, but i downloaded that "Skate" demo on XBL, and i'm actually fairly impressed with it :)

£130 thats rediclus. i agree it shud be at least £70-80. Also the elite is very pricy too, its just as expensive as the premium when that was launched. When is the next review coming lol?
