News: Splinter Cell: Conviction

Ubisoft have now confirmed rumours that a new Splinter Cell game is indeed in the works in Splinter Cell: Conviction. Set after the events of Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Sam is now a fugitive, pursued by the very government he once served- if he is to survive he must keep his head down and create a close underground network of allies. Sam must make full use of his environment, make shift weapons, and blending in with the crowd. Without all the classic gizmos Sam has been used to, stealth, anticipation, and quick thinking are now key. Sounds like Ubisoft Montreal are set to deliver something truely new and different for the Splinter Cell series. Splinter Cell: Conviction is due out at the end of the year on Xbox 360 and PC, although somehow (like previous Splinter Cell titles) I can see the release date slipping to around March 2008. We'll see I guess.

They've only just confirmed this? I saw screenshots of it a few weeks back on Evil Avatar (either screenshots or very "in-game-like" concept drawings).

PS: Avoid 'Evil Avatar' at all costs, there's so many fanboys on that site that reading through threads is a terrifying experience, lol.

Many details of the game had already been leaked a while back including the title Conviction, concept screenies, and even plot details. It was actually confirmed on Thursday. :)
