Epic games boss Mark Rein has revealed that a new auto-update is in the works for Gears of War. The update will apparently address a few known issues with the multiplayer, as well as adding some new achievements 'geared' (see what I did there) towards the Hidden Fronts map-pack. No release date has yet been firmly set, but expect it very soon. Remember, the Hidden Fronts map-pack is currently available for download at 800 MSP but will be free if you're willing to wait until September.

I know this isn't anything to do with Gears, but i just read this on DigitalSpy.co.uk:
"Formerly announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will now also be released on Xbox 360, with a cut-down Nintendo Wii version also a possibility, according to online reports.
The new game in the multi-million selling franchise will feature objective-based missions, while the Xbox 360 version will also include exclusive content and gameplay not offered in the PS3 edition.
Starring the infamous character Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, as with other titles in the series, is being created by renowned designer Hideo Kojima.
A Konami spokesman said: "The game is set after the events of MGS2 and players will reprise the role of top secret agent Solid Snake with appearances by characters throughout the MGS series. With the addition of online capability, MGS4 is a leading product and will signal the dawn of a new gaming era for the MGS series."
The firm also added: "MGS4 brings a totally new concept and situation, resulting in the toughest Metal Gear infiltration mission ever devised."
Industry insiders claim publisher Konami is also in talks with Nintendo to bring a cut-down MGS game to the Wii.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be released in 2008."
I can't find a mention of it on ANY other sites, so is there any truth in this or is it pure bullshit?
I call 'just more rumours and spec' on that one. The rumours about this just don't seem to die do they? Would Sony let MGS4 come to 360 though? Do Sony even own rights to the game, or is it Konami's call?
Who knows of it will come to 360. It could also depend on many factors- such as how big the user base of PS3 consoles is by the time the game hits. Also Sony really needs a price-cut. Even with MGS4 as an exclusive, you'd have to be a complete fool to spend more than £400 on a PS3 if that were the only major reason to own the console above a 360.
Problem is with PS3 atm is cost and games. The 360 has quite a lot of exclusives out this year that look awesome, but where's the PS3's- not just for this year, but after that? All I can think of right now (that is officially announced and what not) apart from MGS4 is Heavenly Sword- which I really like the look of.
As for cost- when it comes to this xmas, unless there's any good exclusives on Sony's machine- people will look at games like Assassin's Creed, GTA4 etc- and it will a choice between spending £280 or less, or over £400 in order to play those games. There's only one winner, UNLESS Sony issues a price cut.
