Listen up soldier! You are about to be sent in to the line of conflict once again in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. For the first time, the Call of Duty series will leave World War II behind and take us right up to the present day. Also, in case you're worried about how rapidly the Call of Duty games are being released, fear not- Infininty Ward are behind this one and apparently started development even whilst Call of Duty 3 was being made by Treyarch. Details are currently very scarce, however it is thought that the game is being developed for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, with a PC version likely if you go by Infinity Ward developed the first two Call of Duty games and released them on PC, but unlikely if you go by Call of Duty 3 which was released on consoles only. Still- the first trailer will be available come this Saturday (28th April) so make sure you take a look at that.

It WILL be on PC, the only reason that CoD3 wasn't on PC was because Treyarch developed it, and they've always done the console games. If CoD4 is released on everything but PC there will be uproar from PC gamers, especially considering that PC gamers made the Infinity Ward original a hit in the first place.
Even if it does come out on PC, i'll be getting the 360 version anyway, methinks my ageing PC won't be able to handle it, lol.
I'm not too sure about the modern setting though, i feel that they could have set it in WWII again but this time put it in the Pacific Theatre, that seems to be the only place in WWII that they haven't done yet. Hopefully this wont just be Battlefield 2 with a storyline and CoD controls.
Just watched the trailer, looks pretty damn good! Very reminiscent of BF2 but it still has a bit of that CoD charm. Reminded me of Black Hawk Down (the movie, not the shitty games) in places.
Just watched the trailer myself. Looking good. :) I agree with your comments too mate.
Oh yeah, by the way, i know this is nothing to do with CoD4, but i got 'God of War II' on Friday (Special Edition for the princely sum of £25.99, bargain!), and it's awesome! the first twenty minutes alone are better and more fun than the whole of GoW1. If you didn't like the original then you probably wont be too fussed about the sequel, as it really is just more of the same with snazzy new moves and nicer graphics, but personally i think it's better than most things i've played on 360 so far. Seriously, it's so much fun, and the opening "boss" is frigging HUGE!
I know I SHOULD like God of War- and it wasn't bad or anything, but for one reason or another I couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed when I played it. Maybe it was because I expected too much after how people raved about it. The combat is awesome though, although I didn't really like the blocking or rolling system- it didn't really work as well as say Ninja Gaiden. Hmm, maybe I should give it another chance. I do love Greek Mythology too!
Thanks god Infinity Ward are back! COD3 wasn't awful or anything, I just think it was inferior to COD2.
Good news anyway.
