News: Halo 3 update

Behold the Halo 3 legendary edition, in all its glory. Bungie have now officially unveiled the final design (as pictured) and it looks pretty splendid. The set comes in a nice 'Spartan helmet' inspired box- which contains the boxed version of Halo 3, as well as a special edition extras and bonuses DVD, and special edition artwork.
There have also recently been strong suggestions that Bungie may actually be concidering releasing the game in September, rather than a more obvious October/November release. Apparently this would maximize sales impact right up until Christmas, and further support Xbox 360 console sales. With the beta currently scheduled for Spring, surely Bungie would need time to fix any bugs/problems with the game- making a late October/early November release more likely. Still- you never know.

November please. for the love of God don't rush it Bungie! I know bugs and other things can be ironed out these days with a simple patch from XBL, but a game should be finished first and foremost.

Also, as tantalising as that legendary edition looks, I think i'll just be sticking to the Collectors Edition, the LE is apparently going for $129 in America, which means about £70-£80 over here (although knowing the so called "exchange rate" over here, it'll probably end up being closer to the £100 mark)...too much money for two extra discs and a (most likely) tacky Spartan helmet.

Don't worry about it. Apparently- if the rumours are true- Bungie is actually on course to finish Halo 3 in time for a Semptember release, but will be allowed the extra time if needs be- and instead be released in November. Bungie haven't been and aren't being rushed with Halo 3- so there shouldn't be anything to be concerned about. :)

I don't know if I will get the collectors edition yet either- I probably will to be honest- but depending on price- just so long as it's not completely ridiculous.

If the above link doesn't work, go to Gameplay.co.uk, you can pre order all three versions of Halo 3, even the legendary edition seems fairly reasonably priced, we're getting it cheaper than the yanks by the look of it :)

Although, i don't think you'll like the Limited Edition, it's in a similar box to the LE of Gears of War. I never saw a problem with it really, it only took me about 3 seconds to get the disc out :/ You just have to rearrange all of the crap to behind the disc packet.

Yeah I saw that on game and gameplay just after it was announced. I'll probably get the legendary edition- which I can get for about £50 with discount at HMV.
I just didn't really like the GOW tin- it took up too much shelf space, was kinda tacky, and it just wasn't as easy access as a normal case is.

So which edition will you be getting?
