News: HMV scraps it's 'spectacular' PS3/PSP deal

HMV have today released a statement stating that they have decided to revise their original pre-order offer. As reported previously- HMV/Sony wanted £675 in order to secure a pre-order of the new Playstation 3 console; the bundle also containing a 4GB PSP and 2 PSP games. Now it would seem that their plans backfired, and after being forced to see sense- the console will now be available seperately. The statement reads:

"Now that we've been able to confirm our level of PS3 stock with Sony, we're in a position to revise our original online offer. We will therefore be writing imminently to all the customers who have indicated that they wish to make the dual purchase to advise them that they can now pre-order the PS3 console by itself, if they prefer."

Thank the living fuck for that! lol.

Not that i'm buying one at launch, but that stupid offer would have seriously hindered the PS3's sales imo.

PS: I got R6: Vegas for my b'day, the first mission in Mexico was a little disappointing, but once i got to Vegas it's really picked up the pace, i'm loving it! You can't beat pulling off a perfect tactical maneuver. This is what GRAW should have been like.

I'm not buying one at launch either. It's too expenisive until it has AAA titles released for it- and with Xbox 360's 2007 line-up- I'm more than happy with my 360.
Yeah Rainbow Six Vegas is alright- though I suggest you pick up either Rainbow Six 3 or Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow for the original Xbox (they'll be v.cheap by now) as they are the best in the series. To be honest I think Ubisoft have gone down hill a little recently. GRAW isn't as good as GR2, Vegas isn't as good as Rainbow Six 3, and while SCDA is great on the Xbox, the 360 version is a little rushed in comparison (although not bad.) Hopefully as they get more used to the 360- their games will improve. Afterall- games like GRAW/GRAW 2 were/are rushed- esp the original GRAW was rushed out to meet release.

Personally i prefer Vegas to RS3 (i had RS3 on PS2, it was the same game as the Xbox game but with slightly worse graphics), i like the higher emphasis on action in Vegas. RS3 was good but compared to Vegas it feels "clunky" and the shooting was unsatisfying, in Vegas it is actually fun in my opinion.

Clunky? Unsatisfying? All anyone need do is play Rainbow Six 3 on Xbox Live. It was truely awesome.
By the way have you tried the shotguns in Vegas yet? They don't half suck.

Nah, not bothered with the shotguns yet, whenever i run out of my SMG ammo i just find a P90, it brings back memories of Counter Strike and my P90 pwnage, lol.
