The slightly delayed demo of Crackdown can now be found on Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo features a singleplayer mode, and the Xbox Live mode is available too which lets you play co-operatively with someone. You will need 1.24MB of HDD space in order to download the demo.I downloaded the demo earlier today and I must say I wasn't impressed. It just wasn't fun, and I got the impression that it would quickly become quite repetative. You just seem to be able to run, jump, and drive around, shooting gang members (who happen to be pretty much everywhere, all of the time.) There doesn't seem to be any apparent structure to the game in that- if I compare with Grand Theft Auto- it lets you free roam around the city/islands- but also has well structured missions to accept. I think you guys should try this for yourself though- some people seem to like it. Still, I'll probably end up picking this up- just to get onto the Halo 3 beta!

yes...its seems really repetative and kind of simple if you get what i mean. It doesnt give off the WOW factor!!
I REALLY don't like games with cell shaded graphics either, i'm not going to waste time downloading the demo, i'll probably just wait for OXM to put it on the disc. While not brilliant by any means, i think that Saints Row does a much better job of the GTA clone thing.
Hang on...Saints Row does a much better job? But you've just said you haven't yet played Crackdown?
I like Cell Shaded Graphics personally- games like Zelda: Windwaker, and XIII looked great.
I mean in terms of mission structure, you said yourself in your article that it isn't very good in that department.
No it isn't- though there is nothing particularly apparent in terms of story/mission structure in the demo. I don't know if the full game has a more clear set of missions, but the demo doesn't. :)
It's just not very good. You'd be better off buying GTA:SA and Saints Row for the same money.
...or just GTA:SA and save some money. :)
