News: Codename Zephyr

Has the Xbox V2 been revealed? Engadget certainly seems to think so, with the console to have full HDMI support for 1080p HD goodness, a cooler 65nm processor, and best of all- a 120GB HDD. What is currently not known however is how much the Zephyr will retail for, or whether the new HDD will come bundled with the console or not- but it is probable that the console will be the same price as the current versions. No firm release date has been set, and of course there is no official responce from Microsoft at the moment. I really want that HDD!

I doubt it will be the same price as the version that is out now, that is unless MS cut the price of the current version's premium pack to about £200, that would piss on the Wii's price point, especially when it came to the Core pack which would probably drop in price considerably.

And if it comes with the 120gb HDD as standard, i'd be expecting a much higher price point, i wouldn't be surprised if they released it closer to the PS3's price point, undercutting it slightly to make the PS3 seem even more expensive.

Well they wouldn't want to lose that price advantage they have over Sony would they? The current version's premium pack to £200? When this new version is out, they won't make the version we have now anymore. I don't think the 120GB will come as standard personally- but who knows. They will probably need to reduce the price of the 20GB, to allow the 120GB to sell for a reasonable price point. But hey- the HDD may come as standard on the premium, and the 20GB to become standard with the core. MS already lose money on every 360 sold anyway- so it might be possible to keep the prices the same as they are now- depending on how much the new HDD costs them.
