News: Is this the next Elderscrolls or Oblivion 2?Well no, actually- but it does look bloody similar. The game 'Two Worlds' is being developed by a company named Topware Interactive and is due out 7th March 2007 on Xbox 360 and PC. The screenshots look very nice indeed, but can it match the greatness of Oblivion? Perhaps even beat it? I'm very excited about this one. If it turns out anything like Oblivion then I'm sold. Hmmm, that looks a bit TOO Oblivion-esque for my liking. Unless it's cum inducingly brilliant i think i'll pass. It just looks like a rip off to me :/
It does look like a ripoff yes, but if you read the story description- it sounds quite interesting. I guess we'll see- but even if it is an Oblivion rip-off- is that actually a bad thing?
Yes, because after 60+ hours in Tamriel, i want to move onto something with different surroundings.
Don't get me wrong, i love Oblivion, it's probably my game of the year too :)
My top 5 games of the year (so far) are probably:
1. Oblivion (PC)
2. Prey (PC)
3. Half Life 2: Episode 1 (PC)
4. Company of Heroes (PC)
5. Shadow of the Collosus (PS2)
Of course, i'm still to get my 360, and everyone except you thinks that Gears is awesome, so i'm expecting that to enter my top games as well.
Also, you can probably pick up Prey pretty cheap now, i'd definitely recommend it. It does get slightly repetitive after a bit, but at least it's innovative, which is what i loved about it. Although, like FEAR, it has been 'ported' by another company, so be wary of it, maybe rent it first.
Prey? Oh dear. Well it's not very good to be honest- or atleast on 360. It's just another average shooter, and the portals and gravity pads, whilst nice ideas, don't really save the game from being average. It also has a terrible Xbox Live mode and is full of lag issues.
As for GOW- everyone has their opinions. Just play it for yourself. Remember- 7.5 is a good score- with the multiplayer review to be added, the score will be increased. Although 7.5 is good, it should be better- but I think if you play the singleplayer- you'll see that 7.5 is a pretty fair score.
Well i really enjoyed Prey, it must have been another one of those badly ported games that didn't suit being on a console (i can imagine the upside down bits being crap using a controller tbh, mouse/keyboard ftw i'm afraid).
The controller isn't the issue at all. It's just not a particularly good game- it's probably the same as the PC version tbh- but it didn't do too well on the 360. It also has a almost unplayable MP mode which they claimed to fix with a patch- that unfortunately did nothing.
I just wonder if people would have scored GOW differently if it hadn't had all that hype.
I'd still say that it's the best looking 360 game.
It is definately the best looking 360 game- nothing else that's out at the moment comes close.
Personally, I personally believe that, like you pointed out, if GOW hadn't had all the hype or hadn't have had ridiculously good graphics- that GOW wouldn't have recieved around a 95% average review ratio- more of a 80%.
