Xbox Live: Arcade Wednesday

This Wednesday's Arcade title is Lumines Live! It's a puzzle/music game, that to be honest I don't know too much about apart from that it's supposed to be quite good and a lot of people have been looking forward to it. The title will be available as soon as the Xbox Live maintenence has been completed (probably about 08:00 GMT) for a rather pricey 1200 MS points.

Also, while we are on the topic of Arcade games, I thought I'd mention this about Playstation 3. Sony are due to have some sort of press conference in around a week's time, where as far as I know they are to release more details on it's online service and such like. Yesterday I viewed a few leaked screenshots of games from their version of Arcade. I must admit I'm fairly impressed and it looks rather good. I was hugely excited when I saw screenshots for Lemmings 2, one of my favourite classic games which I still have for the Phillips C.D.I! What do you guys think? Will Sony provide an online service to match...perhaps beat Xbox Live, or not?

Oh and lastly, here is the current schedule for updates to the site:

  • Totem Ball review
  • Lumines Live! review
  • Phantasy Star Universe BETA preview
  • Splinter Cell: DA review

I'm sure Lumines has wrecked my XBL!

What do you think to it? I'll save most of my opinions and thoughts for the review but I must admit I do like it- although I only have the trial at the moment.

I'm not too keen on it. But that said, I don't generally like puzzle games. It seems there's a lot of hidden add on's that are needed too (Micro$oft!).

Looking at the puzzle games on XBLA I think I'd rather spend 800 points on Zuma. At least it's not another 80's rehash (Frogger, Pac Man, etc).

Yeah it is a bit on the steep side, price wise.
However it's nice to have something new and inventive to play- like you say- rather than another 80's rehash.
