X06 News: Briefing

This is breaking news, whilst the live stream of X06 is currently taking place, Microsoft just announced it's first big announcement. Doom is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade...tonight!

Just watched live in game demonstrations of Assasins Creed and Bioshock (Bioshock now comfirmed as Xbox 360 and Windows exclusive.) Both of these titles looks awesome; next gen like you've never seen before.

HD-DVD player will cost £129.99 in the UK.

The next Splinter Cell title (Splinter Cell 5, not Double Agent) has been announced as exclusive to Xbox 360 and Windows- wow, that's impressive!

Marvel online will be an MMORPG based in the Marvel world, exclusive to the Xbox 360 and Windows.

Guitar Hero II will be on Xbox 360.

Project Gotham Racing 4 has been comfirmed, although no official release date has yet been set.

The next Grand Theft Auto will get 2 exclusive packs of episodic content, exclusive to Xbox 360 and available within a few months of it's October 2007 release date.

Crikey Bob! One last thing that Microsoft just showed was a sort of teaser trailer for something called 'Halo Wars.' It seems to be a new series for Halo, however what exactly I am unsure of at the moment. It's from 'Ensemble Studios' apparently. http://www.halowars.com Edit: apparently it is a new RTS game based on the Halo universe! Hell yeah!

At the end of the briefing video it says that all of the footage just shown will be available for download soon. So now we wait for the huge influx of Marketplace content.

Holy shit! There's been some good stuff announced tonight! That Halo Wars trailer pwned! I've just been on the official website and it is comfirmed as been a new RTS designed exclusively for the Xbox 360. Also Doom is now available on the Marketplace, with the full version pricing up at 800 Microsoft Points. I'm currently downloading the trial, so impressions will follow.

According to a press release that i just read, the next Splinter Cell (after Double Agent) will be 360 only, no Windows version. Thank you so much for persuading me to get a 360, lol.

Yes it is the Splinter Cell AFTER Double Agent. No Windows version? Hmmm, maybe so. It's on Xbox 360 so that's all that matters!
